Goals For 2008-2009 Program Year:

Membership

  • Goal of 52 but striving for 54.
  • Assign a Rotarian to mentor new members.
  • Quarterly socials including some happy hours along the way. This will be a way to bring a prospective member to meet our members.
  • Marcie is working on developing an orientation program which will include emailing a power point on new members orientation to new members

Programs

This past year has been one of the best years for programs and we want to continue the quality of programs.  We will be asking each member to be responsible for one program during the year.  Boyd and I are working on a coordinator and coordinating plan to be in place very soon.  We ask everyone to be thinking about what program you would like to bring to our club.

Service Projects

Kerr Center fence projected was completed but will be counted in the 2008-2009 year. There will be an additional project there to finish out our grant from the district.  Clyde Howell will lead the effort with the Morrocan club to build a new water well in that area and obtain a matching RI grant.

Public Relations

Dolores will chronicle the clubs activities with articles and pictures in the newspaper and the district newsletter.  If you have pictures or information about club activities please let Dolores know so she can record it.  This will help with the Club’s Presidential Citation Award and bring exposure to Rotary and our club activities.

Community Service

John Eaton will lead this effort.  Jerry Kahler and myself have developed a “simplified” grant application for all groups requesting money from our club.  They will submit the grant to the committee.  The application will ask for the amount of money requested along with the specific use of the money.  We will be better at tracking our monies and the use of those funds.  These organizations are accustomed to filing grants for monies.

Vocational

Mark Sheffield will continue to lead this effort in working with both schools on scholarships and the application process.  Steve Kice will continue to work with both interact clubs.

Fundraising

Important participation from each club member.

Club Administration

Board meetings will be held the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  We will have quarterly assemblies.  The governors official visit will be September 30th. We will be working to revising the latest version of Recommended Rotary Club Bylaws and bringing it to the club for adoption. Club elections will be held on December 2, 2008.
